This program utilizes a numerical simulation scheme. You need to tell it how much time to simulate (the lower field). And how accurate it should be. See the next frame.
If the timesteps are too big, the final data will build up errors. Too small timesteps will use all your memory and take forever to simulate. Actually, the routine is pretty good, so you can get away with pretty large timesteps.
